Here are some general steps for growing carrots from seeds:
Choose a planting location: Carrots grow best in loose, well-draining soil with plenty of organic matter. Make sure the planting site receives full sun.
Prepare the soil: Remove any rocks or debris from the soil, and work in compost or well-rotted manure to improve soil fertility and texture.
Sow the seeds: Sow carrot seeds directly into the ground, either by hand or using a seed planter. Plant the seeds about ¼ inch deep, and space them 1-2 inches apart. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil.
Water the seeds: Water the planting area gently to avoid disturbing the seeds. Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged until the seeds germinate.
Thin the seedlings: When the carrot seedlings are about 2 inches tall, thin them so that they are spaced 3-4 inches apart. This will give the roots enough room to grow.
Care for the plants: Water the carrots regularly, and keep the soil consistently moist but not saturated. Mulch around the plants to help retain moisture and keep weeds at bay.
Harvest the carrots: Carrots are ready to harvest when they have reached their mature size and the tops of the roots are visible above the soil. Use a spade or fork to gently loosen the soil around the roots, and pull them up by the greens. Rinse the carrots thoroughly and store them in a cool, dry place.
