Jumbo Black Muscadine (Seeds) Sweet Juicy Grape Vines winemaking Grapevine

Jumbo Black Muscadines, Vitis rotundifolia, vines are very vigorous with large sweet berries with thick plumb-like skin. The black sweet muscadine grapes ripen in the early-mid season. The plants are well-adapted to the native warm and humid climate of zones 6-10; they need fewer chilling hours than better-known varieties, and thrive in the summer heat. Muscadines are typically used in making artisan wines, juice, hull pie and jelly. They are rich sources of polyphenols. Muscadine seeds are also a source of antioxidant compounds that help fight the damaging effects of free radicals and unstable molecules. Muscadine grape seeds are naturally rich in anthocyanidins, oligomeric procyanidins, ellagic acid and quercetin.
